Alfred and I were out running some errands tonight and Micah fell asleep in the car about five minutes from home. He hadn't had a nap all day and I hated to wake him up. Neither of us really wanted to go home either, so we just drove around for a while and ended up on the highway just heading west.
Both of us were feeling kind of blah. The sky was grey from rain and despite many attempts to lighten the mood, there still was a sense of heaviness hanging over the car that just wouldn't go away. I really just wanted my husband to have a relaxing and enjoyable night after having a rough day. Here's where you might start thinking I'm a little cuckoo. I said a prayer in my head pretty much like this:
God, I would like to have a good night and would like for Alfred to cheer up. Please just show yourself somehow to us. Just knowing that you are there and listening to me would be amazing.
So if you think that God only cares about the BIG things, think again. He cares about you and wants to prove it to you.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
“Indeed the very hairs of your head are numbered.”
"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
"Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies."
